This week, I started a Python bootcamp through Udemy. It’s a great course so far. I’ve used other programming languages, mostly HTML and CSS, but haven’t had the opportunity to learn or become familiar with Python. I have a long way to go to proficiency, but have definitely got a great handle on the basics!
NanoWriMo Prep. has started, and for the first time in many years, I’m committed! For a change, I’m going to try writing a mystery. Lately, I’ve been re-reading Sue Grafton’s Kinsey Millhone and Sara Paretsky’s V.I. Warshawski. I think it would be fun to write about a bad-ass, kick-butt, private eye. Although I’ve read a good bit of the genre, I need to get familiar with the required beats and mechanics of the type. I’ve picked up a few reference books, and will be going through them in the next few weeks as I work on my outline.
