Nothing marks the passing of another year quite like the end of summer. As a parent, the back to school rush is the surest sign of time and age. Every year, we take a short family vacation to commemorate the passing of the season and the start of the new year.
This year, we went to Jay Peak, Vermont. We wanted to check out the indoor water slide and hike in the mountains.
The kids had a wonderful time, and so did we! Although most of the amenities were closed until ski season, there was more than enough to keep us all occupied. Although my kids ages range from 7-14, there was plenty to amuse them.
If I were to go back, I’d try again in the winter months when more activities were available and restaurants and shops were open. We’re taking the kids to downhill ski lessons this fall, so maybe we’ll go back during ski season. I’ll keep you updated about the differences!
